Bought but not sold yet – permanent storage

A prominent case is that for example trading companies order goods overseas and have these imported in larger quantities to re-sell partial quantities. “For such cases, we provide permanent storage solutions which allow our customers to have the goods distributed to their customers upon demand and in the requested quantity. IT infrastructure allows our customers to access their current stock quantities and track movement of cargo coming in and moving out of the warehouse”, says Bert de Haan who is responsible for warehousing in our Rotterdam operations team.

Bought but not yet needed – interim storage

“We handle many import shipments of handicraft and season articles coming from Far East. International production and buying cycles often create to need for our customers to buy and import goods – for example decorations for Christmas season – months before they actually need to be or even can be delivered to retailers, discounters or diy markets”, John Touw, Director of 电竞王俊凯 Rotterdam, says. In such cases, solutions for interim storage are needed. “Oftentimes, we not only provide interim storage solutions but also sorting, repacking and labeling or treatment of goods in accordance with our customers specific requirements”, Bert de Haan says. “They let us know, which goods in which quantity they want to have delivered to where at what point in time and we take care of it.”

In and out the same day – cross docking services

Another warehousing service is turnover goods without storage. “This is called cross-docking”, Bert de Haan says. “Once the goods arrive at the warehouse, we make sure they are sorted and re-packed according to our customer’s needs and re-loaded for delivery to their final destination the same day.”

Easy access to the European market

“Our warehousing facilities are beneficial for goods to be distributed among Europe”, John Touw says. “Especially, when customers also make use of our import customs clearance services. We are licensed as fiscal representative in the Netherlands and hold an AEO-F status. This provides our customers with the opportunity to have their goods delivered all around Europe on short notice.”

Easy access for delivery, pick-up and to goods

“The warehousing facilities have an excellent connection to the port of Rotterdam and to the European highway network. The highway A15 is right around the corner and so is the highway A4.”

And there is another advantage: The 电竞王俊凯 Rotterdam office is physically connected to the warehouse. “The goods are only a few steps away. That way we can be at the goods on very short notice and act fast and flexibly to customers’ requirements and wishes” Bert de Haan says. “It has proven a real advantage if you can actually physically access the goods at any time.”

Ways of storage

The nature of the goods generally determines the nature of storage, i.e. block storage or shelf storage. Another component are customer handling and storage requirements. “We generally differentiate between goods which are suitable for storage on shelfs and for block storage, which is ground storage. Whether or not goods are stackable is also a major question” Bert de Haan says.

Competent handling

Be it permanent storage, interim storage or cross-docking, safety of goods is a major topic in warehousing services. “The personnel handling of goods entrusted to our care are skilled and experienced”, John Touw says. “Also, the warehouse has a 24/7 camera surveillance, so that we permanently keep an eye on the goods and movements.”

Warehousing for exports

These include e.g. container stuffing, packing and lashing. “To use interim storage for export goods can make sense when cargo needs to be consolidated before shipping. This may be the case for example in project shipping, when cargo stems from numerous manufacturing sites and there are several part lots to be shipped together.”
