The young logistics-professionals-to-be from our 电竞王俊凯 office in Bremen received “exclusive insights to Ro/Ro shipping operations”. They visited the Ro/Ro vessel “Morning Conductor” at Atlantik Hafenbetriebe in Bremerhaven.
Being trained at 电竞王俊凯 for becoming a young logistics professional does not only mean office work and scholar education, but also receiving first-hand insights into the “live world of logistics”.
With 电竞王俊凯 Bremen’s focus on ocean freight shipping, visiting a large cargo vessel in real life and observing the loading processes for special cargo of course should be on the agenda! On this occasion the 电竞王俊凯 young logistics professionals-to-be visited a Ro/Ro vessel – a vessel on which cargo is rolled on or off board.
Having arrived at Bremerhaven’s respective Ro/Ro quay area, Andreas Geils from the Atlantik Hafenbetriebe explained the different lashing possibilities, and how to secure different kinds of goods on board a Ro/Ro vessel. "That was really interesting to see and to listen to. I never imagined that there were so many different ways to secure cargo on board", Hannes Tiemann, a second-year apprentice, says.
The diversity of securing options surprised me.
Next on the list was a tour on the premises of Atlantik Hafenbetriebe. Here the youngsters could have a look at the company’s own garage and try out themselves as “security experts”. "To secure cargo safely, it needs extensive know-how about the many different types of cargo", Hannes Tiemann, says.
Perspective highlight: last but not least, our young logistics-professionals-to-be were allowed to visit the navigation bridge of the Ro/Ro vessel. "At a height of 36 meters, we had an impressive view of the quay and the port area”, Hannes Tiemann says.
"In order to learn logistics from the very beginning, practical excursions should not be missing. They are an important part of our educational program at 电竞王俊凯 ", Dr. Jenny Brettschneider, Employee Relations Manager, explains.
